Meet Phoebe Nicholls from Hallidays Point Public School who is now an avid reader thanks to her participation in the Summer Reading Club – an annual initiative between MidCoast Libraries Mid Coast 4 Kids and Mission Australia to promote children reading over the December-January Summer holiday break.
Phoebe says she is now a much better reader and loves books such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid and lots of mystery books such as the Friday Barnes series. “I now read much larger chapter books.”
Phoebe also credits reading books to giving her more confidence in speaking and recommends taking part in the Summer Reading Club to other young children. “My advice it just do it and give it a go because it really will make a big difference to your reading.”
Thanks, Phoebe for sharing about how this fun annual reading initiative has made such a big difference in your life.
