Who are we and what do we do?
Mid Coast 4 Kids is a collective impact initiative focused on improving outcomes for children, young people and families in the Mid Coast.
We bring together local organisations and stakeholders within and outside the community to create lasting and meaningful change by aligning efforts, sharing resources and leveraging the strengths of our community and our partners.
Our Vision
“Mid Coast 4 Kids aims to ensure that every child and young person living in the Mid Coast is valued, supported, respected, protected and provided for and enabled to live well and free from harm”.
Our Principles
Equity: We are committed to fairness and justice. We work with community to address systems-based inequalities in opportunities, outcomes and representation.
Reflective and Responsive: We engage with, listen to, and act on, the wisdom of community. We are reflective in our practice, and we make decisions together, to ensure children and young people can reach their full potential.
Courage: We are courageous and resilient; we are willing to challenge systems that fail to support our children and young people. Our decisions are grounded in compassion, informed by evidence and collective wisdom, and we execute them with humility.
Innovation: We are creative, resourceful, experimental, and dynamic in converting problems to ideas, ideas to systems and systems to solutions. We will learn through cycles of success and failure, and we will share our lessons with humility and generosity.
Transparent and Accountable: We collaboratively build sustainable relationships that foster authenticity, trust, action, and alignment. We honour our commitments, respect our partners and meet our obligations with integrity.
How we partner
Mid Coast 4 Kids have adopted a collaborative governance approach that honours our principled intent to bring together diverse communities in service of our vision. We work in a way that is strategic, action-oriented, accountable, transparent, and responsive to community need.
Our framework is designed to distribute authority and decision-making across a constellation of interconnected groups tackling commonly aligned challenges.
The model enables diverse forms of leadership and build capacity in members to design and implement systems based solutions to key community challenges.
We are currently in the process of formalising our structure and resourcing our backbone to achieve sustainability and scale.
